No Chickens in Burwell?
Matt Redsell of Port Burwell has, for the past several years, been tryingto live as close as possible to a ‘sustainable’ lifestye. He has done several very interesting things one of which is to raise chickens since 2008.
“His local bylaw officer wants to make a new bylaw to ban him from
having his two chickens.” Matt says the hardest thing about this effort at sustainable living is having to deal with the local bureaucracy.

Now It’s Drywall – Poorly Made in China!
Drywall can corrode US-China links

Horror stories of Chinese-made products laden with unforeseen quality problems have been in ample supply in recent years. But the recent problems with Chinese drywall – panels used to create interior walls – are different and more symbolically potent problems for US-China relations than those posed by tainted dog food or lead-laced toys.

The Chinese product appears to be damaging sensitive household electronics, corroding domestic heating and ventilation systems and copper tubing, as well as causing health problems for homeowners where it has been installed.

What are these people thinking?
The Karzai government has stolen the election. The war has spilled over to help destabilize and impoverish nuclear-armed Pakistan. The American and European public is increasingly opposed to the war.
